Worthy!

If only you knew the power of worthiness. Do you know the feeling of being ‘worthy’?? That feeling gives you power. You feel like you are in control. You feel unbeatable. You can challenge the world. When you feel worthy you feel powerful. You feel that you are right, coming from confidence.

When you feel worthy, you feel that you deserve everything just as everyone else. When you feel worthy, you don’t judge yourself. When you feel worthy, you are your biggest supporter. You are your friend! Feeling worthy is so powerful. It feels as if you have everything you could ever wish for.

Wow, I wish they taught us in school how to feel Worthy. Question, if your friends felt worthy, would they have self-harmed themselves? If they felt worthy, would they have taken their lives away?

Worthiness is priceless. Its value is worth more than millions.

If you have ever felt worthy, you know what I mean…may God bestow that feeling upon us.

Can feelings of worthiness be gained? And, how so?

One of the most important lessons I’ve learned, is to be easy on myself. Pressure is already surrounding me, I don’t need any more.

Just like you can train yourself to gain self-confidence, you can also train yourself to create and develop self-worthiness.

The Importance of MENTAL HEALTH

What is mental health?

Mental health has many definitions.  It includes our emotional, psychological and social well-being (U.S Department of Health and Human Services, 2010). And by social well-being it refers to your interaction with society (for example, do you tend to isolate yourself due to depression and anxiety? Do you interact positively with others?).

Why is mental health important?

Mental health is incredibly essential to be able to live a healthy and satisfying life. Mental health is to be able to handle daily stress and stress during hardships. Many people do not know much about mental health and that puts them at risk of having poor mental health. Because as you may know, everyone needs to take care of their mental health and if you are unaware of what it entails, you will not be able to take good care of it.

Mental Health helps with:

-better social interactions

-handling stress better

-Self-care (tips: Take good care of your hygiene, go out for a walk, take a trip, bake, work on fun projects, participate in a new sport activity, go to the library and pick a self-development book).

***People who are experience poor mental health often handle stress with stress.

How to develop mental health?

First of all, if you feel like you are stressed most of the time, its best that you speak to a health professional/ therapist. In your first visit, they will ask you what kind of things are stressing you, and then you both work on a plan to reduce or possibly eliminate the stress. This is such a life changing experience!!

Facts on mental health:

-Suicide is the second leading cause of death in 15-29 year olds. For each adult who died there were 20 or more attempted suicide.

-Mental health effects all ages, education and income levels and cultures.

-Mortality rate due to suicide for men is 4 times the rate among women.

-Mental illnesses can be effectively treated, unlike what people think.

Struggling With Making Money?

At some point in our lives, we all struggled with money! Many are working part time to be able to stay with their children at home, or maybe they are working part-time because they cannot find a full-time stable job. It is certainly not easy for all the families!

For me personally, I needed to find a job to pay off my $27,000 (approx.) school loan. And when I had graduated, I was not able to find a permanent, full-time job. So when I found temporary work, I knew that I had to look for another job soon.

After graduating from university, this pattern continued for two years. This is when I would do some research into finding an online business that I can pursue and feel comfortable in knowing that I am hiring myself and working for My business to grow and be successful!

I am so thankful that I had done my research! It did take some time to find an online business idea. I did find a couple of online businesses, however, the one I chose which is Six Figure Mentors, check it out: http://tidyurl.com/qtlbj0 seemed the most trustworthy of them all.

I dug very deep into this online business, to make sure I was not going for a scam. The last thing I wanted to do was throw my money away at a scam!

I am very glad that I have pursued this online business because it gives you a peace of mind when you know you just hired yourself and you’re working for your own business, which means you are going to put in your best effort to reap the benefits!

If you want a peace of mind in money matters and want to hire and work for your own self, then, why not take this chance to look into this online business that I have also started??

You deserve financial freedom and success.

Please let me know what you think of it!! 🙂

All the BEST!! =)))

Here’s a chance to look into it yourself: http://enjoyyourfinancialfreedom.com/laila904?pg=video-series&ty=video-series&t=Struggling+with+money+B

Why you should have hope when you are depressed

Why you should have hope when you are depressed?

Hope is necessary to everyone’s life. Those living with depression and  those who aren’t all need hope. That is because hope allows us to do things, to take good care of ourselves and others, and to let go of all that drains us.

Having a seed of hope allows you to consider seeking help. A supportive individual in your life and a mental health professional such as a doctor, a psychiatrist or a psychologist will help you in the healing process.  These health professionals help identify the problem, consider ways of resolving the problem (although you may be thinking that there is no way my problem can be solved, you never know unless you give it a try!)

Tip: Working with a mental health professional such a psychiatrist or a psychologist in identifying the problem and dealing with it through cognitive behavioural therapy will help you heal. Bringing hope to the table allows you to easily grasp the advice you are given by the health professional and speed the recovery.

How hope changed the lives of the following individuals:

“There is life at the end of the tunnel…people are thinking oh yeh, back off you stupid old woman. But I felt like they may be feeling right now. And I would never never believe that I could  be as well. I am more well than I have ever been in my life. My life is better in terms of I have a bounce in my step..I enjoy every day.”

Female, 50 years old

Most people, and I stress most people, do recover from depression…It can lead you to self harm, if you so get that far along the line. But if you cling on to the thought that most people recover and that you will get better…I would just stress that you need hope, you need hope that it is not the end of the line for you. You are very likely to get better but you need time. And you needn’t be too hard on yourself and think that you’re a failure and you’ve got it all wrong…you cannot see the end because your circumstances are such that you’re locked into this cycle of hopelessness, you can’t function, your brain doesn’t function, and you can’t believe then that you’re going to be okay as a human being, in which case you’ve just got to hang on. It’s lovely if you got the support and encouragement of those around you, but you’re not necessarily going to get that, and we needn’t pretend that you will. But as I say most people do get better with depression.”

Male, 67 years old

Where can a person find hope?

Remembering the joys of the past can bring you some hope! Can you recall the movie nights you had, what about the time you enjoyed a good read, how about the nice walk or a good and enlightening conversation you had. These memories remind you that there certainly was good times in your life. Although you may not feel passionate about life as you used to, things will change, they have to, nothing stays constant.  Who knows, maybe things can change for the better. Recalling the good memories you once had will help bring hope again to your life.

Why not be hopeful?

What is there to lose if you are hopeful? What are the disadvantages of being hopeful? I certainly cannot think of any.

In summary, hope is a necessity to everyone’s life, whether or not you have depression. Hope is especially needed for the beautiful souls of the depressed. Although having hope is not necessarily easy, it is certainly attainable. Recalling past good memories can help you remember that there were good times in your life and that it wasn’t all dull. With some patience and hope things will sway to change. After all, there are no disadvantages to acquiring hope, are there?!

It is all you need to change your life, I speak from experience.

The question for you is, what if you just had a seed of hope?!

Hope amidst depression [a critical read]

Hope according to me:

Hope is something we all aspire to have, but it is a dire need for people with depression. People with depression experience helplessness and hopelessness. Hope for a depressed person can literally save their life. Hope is air for the depressed person. In this post, I would like to shed some light on hope and  how a seed of hope can save a life.

During a gloomy episode, where all light is sucked out of you leaving you with no light, that is when hope is most needed. Hope is a source of light to your soul.

In the dictionary, hope is defined as “a feeling that is wanted and can be had.” Another definition is “events will turn out for the best.”

The question is can a depressed person be hopeful and optimistic?

Yes! It is not easy to do so but it is CERTAINLY attainable. A depressed person finds it very difficult to be optimistic. To a depressed person, everything feels and looks gloomy. ‘There is no reason to be optimistic if everything is gloomy.’

I remember when I was at my lowest point in life, I thought to myself, “although I know things are NOT going to get better, I am going to have a seed of hope.” And that’s all it took from me. A seed of hope. The question that I present to you is ‘what if you had a seed of hope?’ how might your life change?

The effects that can take place when you judge someone!!!

The effects of judging people are astonishing! There is a lot of damage that is done on those who have been judged. Remember, a dirty look is also considered a judgment. Let’s not forget that 70% of our communication is non-verbal. That means, most of the time, we communicate with our bodies.

The way we stand, the way we walk, our facial expressions, smile versus no smile, frowning, raising eyebrows, turning body away, rolling eyes, etc…these are all ways that we communicate in.

Any negative non-verbal communication can leave a permanent mark. It can literally shake the person. It can make them fall apart or break down. This may not happen to everyone, but there are sensitive souls out there.

For them, these judgments can change one’s belief about themselves. They may think that they are less and unworthy. They may think their ideas and point of view are useless. When they experience negative judgment over and over again, they may start to believe in the judgments of others. Now, that is where it becomes dangerous. Some people may believe this and some might let it just brush off of them…. It is really important to be aware of your body language and tone of voice. These can either build or destroy humans. What you do to others will be done on to you-some day!

Thanks and with love

Your mercy!

What is mercy? Mercy defined by dictionary.com as “compassionate or kindly forbearance shown toward an offender, an enemy, or other person in one’s power, compassion, pity or benevolence.” Another definition is, “an act of kindness, compassion, or favour.”

Mercy is an interesting topic, well at least to me. It is something that is so forgotten about or maybe nowadays people don’t know what it is! Its sad. Mercy to me means:

Elderly woman in wheel chair holding hands with young caretaker

-a nice warm welcoming, kind smile

-a kind word, that is optimistic and loving

-a gentle touch

-a soft look that is kind, as opposed to a disgusted, envious, proud look

-holding the door for someone

-donating/giving money to a homeless person

-being gentle with the young and adults

Why have we become so stingy in showing mercy?

Maybe that is why we are in the current tired shape. We are supposed to be advanced now. We are, when it comes to technology. When it comes to character, its very sad to see that it is getting worse. And this I believe is widely seen in our globe.

In all honesty, I am quite jealous when I see someone with great character, meaning someone who constantly shows mercy to others. I believe this a very rare feature. Therefore it is the most expensive.

Prophet Mohammed (peace be upon him) said: “the dearest to me among you and the nearest to me on the Day of Judgement are those who have the best character”  (Sunan Al-Tirmidhee). Good character is one of the best virtues anyone can have. And Islam reinforces this character widely in the Quran and in the teachings of the Prophet may peace be upon him.

Let us try to show mercy to everyone we meet today. Okay, to one person is great as well 🙂

People’s Judgement of Others

Perhaps the worst thing one can have in their personality is to be “judgmental.” By this I mean someone who judges others all the time. I find such a person to be so proud.Someone with that kind of character has little mercy. How can one judge and show mercy at the same time? It’s an oxymoron. Also, who put that person in a place to judge? I don’t think anyone hired them…for one thing though I think the reason why these people judge is because they think they are better.

Such a personality is known to be narcissistic. Self-centred personality. It’s actually a disorder in the field of psychology.

Why do certain people enter our hearts? O.o?

What makes someone enter your heart?

Sometimes the person’s great qualities capture your attention because these qualities are themselves admirable.

Think about this:

A girl falls for this boy. Her friends ask her, “why do you like him?”

The girls answers well, he is…..

-well mannered

-kind/gentleman

That means this girl has seen these qualities in action!

Similarly, for you to love God, you must open your eyes to His qualities. God has 99 names. And each name represents a quality. You can also recall the things He has done for you in the past, these things probably saved your life/a close one’s life.

Let’s look at one of His names out of the 99 names. The name He has is…

The Loving. This is the quality. But, how do we know that God is really loving? Where is the proof?!!

He takes care of you. You physical system is working. You have a bed to sleep in.

He has given you many things.

How many things do you have? Okay, that would be a long list! Never mind. How about, how many things do you have on you right now?!!

My clothing (my shirt and pants), my shoes, my socks…..

When you see the many things He has given and done for you, you then believe in His qualities.

All Loving, the AL in the Arabic language refers to:

  1. The Greatest at….
  2. Infinity

Now, knowing the above, this means:

-God’s love is the greatest and that love is infinite.

So, this explains why some of us fall in love. It is when we see or feel admirable qualities.

You will be surprised to hear the explanation to this phrase: Love people, but don’t place them in your heart

You will find below a simple yet wise explanation from Yasmin Mogahed ‘s work.

Happy reading!:)

When you have someone/ something in your heart, other than God, you will suffer emotionally! There are no exceptions after this! Having someone in your heart out of your love for them, means that you give them control to your heart and to your happiness.  Literally, the other person has that full control!

Take for instance: Your love for this person is so great, that you cannot stand not having them with you all the time! Well…what if that person cannot be with you all the time??? What will happen to you then?

Because your love for them is deep in your heart, you might actually break down! Now think for a minute: Is loving someone so deep in your heart healthy for your emotionally and physically?

I am not saying that we should not love our partners, children, family, friends and the community. However, think of love this way: Yasmin Mogahed (a spiritual teacher) explains that there are two types of love. There is the love in the heart and the love that you carry in your hands.

The love in your heart is for one thing only and that is for God! That means the love of everything else (wife, children, family, etc.) is to be loved and be admired by holding them close to your heart like you hold a baby.

Loving the wrong way can create immense heartache, sometimes leading to harm to the physical body and to mental health.  See how loving the wrong way can be harmful?!

So because our heart is a sacred part of our body, we should be careful with what we place inside of it.
